Math: Mrs. Haglin, our school's Technology Integration Specialist, is introducing the kiddos to the Ipad Cart. Learning how to use the cart/Ipads is just as important as working on them. The following note was given to me by Mrs. Haglin as to what she will teach the kids today...
Computer class today
DAILY 5: The kids are ready to experience the third component of DAILY 5 called "Word Work" starting Monday. Again, they have experienced "Read to Self" and "Work on Writing" so far.
What the iPad cart looks like and what it's for.
Numbers on the back of iPads and what they are for.
Numbers and colors on the back of name tags and what they are for.
- I would ideally have them get their name tags in their hands while learning about this.
Demonstrate
and practice how to walk to iPad cart, get correct iPad, take it to
your carpet spot using two hands, and play an app. I would let them
choose the app this time. One skill at a time. (In the future, we can
teach taking it to table spot, but I think carpet works better when
sharing the iPads between 2 students)
Demonstrate and practice responding correctly to "iPads off in 5 . . . 4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . nice job."
Demonstrate and practice returning iPads to the cart and plugging in the charger.
