Letter Study: Dd
Math: We have been talking about sorting. We have sorted by color and by shape, but we can also sort objects by their size. Some of these cups are little (small) and some are big (large). Watch me as I sort these cups. I can count the number of cups and write this number on my sorting mat. I can also sort these shapes by their size.
Vocabulary cards: same, different, sort,
Whole Group Explore: Today, you are going to get with your math buddy and sort these shapes by size. Once you have them sorted, you will want to count them and write how many you had in each group.
As students sort observe and ask questions like:
How are these the same ? How are these different?
SMART Room: This mat is for the kids to do the "pencil roll". They try to roll down the mat with their hands put together above their head like a pencil top while keeping their legs together. The idea is to keep their tummy on the tape as they go...this works on their core strength.
Music Day 
Character Education: Mrs. Weninger (our school Social Worker) will be here from 8:25-8:45 to read How Full is your Bucket? By Tom Rath and review the Social Detective skills...use your eyes, ears, brain and heart!
Computer Class Today
The kids will check out their first book at the library today. It can be returned at anytime before next Friday in order for them to check out a new one.
The children enjoyed the bus safety puppet show and sure were active participants!
