Happy birthday Evalynn!
Letter Focus: Bb
Every letter has a hand gesture that I am teaching with the sounds. Not all children hear the sound alone. Some children need to 'see & feel' the sound in order to make a connection to the letter/sound symbol. Below is a link that will bring you to a short YouTube video that you can do with your child. If your child is needing some extra support, I encourage you to do this video with your child at least 4 times a week. Just click on the words 'Visual Phonics Chant' and it will bring you to the video.

Math: Again, we are slowing down on our calendar routine as the children have paperwork they do along the way. They are working on graphing the weather, tracing shapes, writing numbers, and drawing dots to represent numbers on dice. There is a lot to do!
SMART Room: We are learning to do the pencil roll and hopscotch

Bus Safety
I cross the street safely in front of a bus.
Story: The Quiet Place By: Douglas Wood
Periodically, all of us need a place to refocus, calm down, or regroup to be ready to listen and learn. We will talk about where our 'Quiet Place' may be at home and where it will be at school. A spot is designated in our classroom as a place to go to take a break from the group, if needed. Your child may experience this place at some point during the school year as it is a place that is taught to be safe and OK to go to.
~Kindergarten Parent Night is tomorrow evening from 6:00-6:45 in our classroom. Please come to find out all about Kindergarten here at MLE!
~Write a note in your child's VIP notebook stating your child watched the Visual Phonics piece on YouTube and they will receive a free book!
