Sight Word Focus: that

KinderLiteracy: Presidents
The kids will listen to The Story of the Whitehouse by Marge Kennedy to build an interest in the topic for this week: Presidents Day.
They will also view A President's Job.
The comprehension strategy worked on this week is Connections.

Phonics: Digraph /th/
Two letters that make one sound. I call them the Naughty Brothers since they stick their tongue out to produce the sound.

Phonemic Awareness: Manipulating Ending Sounds
Change the last sound to make a new word: "pod" to "pot", "sad" to "sap", etc. Writer's Workshop: Writing with the 5 Senses
