KinderWriting: Illustrators Label the Details
This lesson encourages the kids to add more labels to what they illustrate.
KinderMath: Compare Length
The kids will continue to build their knowledge of comparing sizes. They will compare the length between two items and use 'math talk' to explain the difference. ("The string is longer than the shoe." or "The pencil is shorter than the book.") This is an engaging activity for the children because they get to choose what to measure throughout our classroom.

KinderWriting: Illustrators Label Themselves
Often we place ourselves in a story and our name is a label. We do this to let others know we are part of the story.
Kindermath:
Compare Sizes
Today we begin a new unit called Measurement. The lesson focuses on comparing the sizes of two classroom items with each other (eraser & glue stick, pencil & block, etc.). In addition, please read the publisher's article that comes home today that explains how we will be teaching the teen numbers. It will be in the Wed. envelope.

KinderWriting: Illustrators Label Illustrations
The kids begin writing the first letter sound that corresponds to each of their illustrations.
KinderMath: How Many in All?
Using two different colors of cubes, partners each roll a dot cube and build that many with their cubes. They will join the cubes to see how many in all. Using two separate colors helps the kids 'see' how many. This builds the foundation for doing addition later on.

~The gift wrapping play center is ready to go! The kids will have fun wrapping these items:
teddy bear
necklace
car
crayons
 ball
This center helps the kids determine whether the gift should be wrapped in a small, medium, or large piece of paper. Other skills are: cutting, taping, and writing friends' names. The gift is then returned to the wrapper for 're-gifting' to another friend. The fun keeps going on and on!
