 KinderLiteracy: Scarecrows

Simple recall questions for today: 
Where does this story take place?
Who are the characters?
What happened at the beginning, middle, and end of the story?
We will focus on the vocabulary words within the story (dawn, mammoth, chat, borrowed, lapel).

KinderWriting: Illustrators Illustrate Stories
I will ask for their ideas as I illustrate a story about our playground with questions like: What will our story have in it? Will we add books or lunchboxes to our story? Do we find books or lunchboxes on the playground?

KinderMath: Read and Write 9-10

Partners will work on building sets of 9 and 10 using a 10-Frame and comparing with each other who has more/less. Next The children will hear the story, Ten Black Dots and see how sets of 9 and 10 dots can be made into something. The story will be used again tomorrow so the children can create their own picture using black dots.
