Phonics: Alphabet Knowledge & Letter Formation
Today we will practice writing different kinds of lines. This will help us write some letters of the alphabet later on.

~Horizontal lines
~Slanted lines

Handwriting: Learning the Parts of the House
A house image will be used for our handwriting paper. It will be important for the kids to know where to place their letters and numbers when they are learning to write the "School Way."

Today, I will reread parts of The Rainbow Fish so the children can answer 'text-dependent' questions such as these:

~How does little blue fish feel when Rainbow Fish refuses to give him a special scale?

~What happens to Rainbow Fish when he gives away his first special scale? What evidence in the text tells you this?
