Reading Workshop: Make Predictions
Using the poster Clouds, the kids will make predictions using clues and evidence in a passage and what they already know.

Kidblog: Reinforce writing concepts such as capital letters, spaces, and periods.  Also, practicing how to use the Kidblog website to share their amazing ideas.

 Math: 
New Concept: Sometimes when we compare the weight of a few items it is hard to tell which one is lighter and which one is heavier. Did you notice that yesterday?  We have a tool that can help us. It is called a balance scale. Compare the weights of several items that were used the previous day. Demonstrate how the scale dips down on the side that holds the heaviest object. 
Whole Group Explore: Today you will work with your partner. You will find two items to hold in your hand. Try to estimate which one will be heavier or lighter. Then you will carefully place them on your balance scale to see which one is lighter or heavier.   You will want to make smart choices. Make sure you don’t try to measure something that won’t fit on your scale.
