MathNew Concept: We have been talking about sorting. We have sorted by color and by shape, but we can also sort objects by their size. Some of these cups are little (small) and some are big (large). Watch me as I sort these cups. I can count the number of cups and write this number on my sorting mat. I can also sort these shapes by their size.
Whole Group Explore: Today, you are going to get with some math buddies and sort shapes by size. Once you have them sorted, you will count them and write how many you had in each group.
Student Application: Students will trace the number 2.
Students will color by shape. Then count the number of shapes they have in each
category. They will write that number in the cloud at the end of each column.
