Math: Making Teen Numbers
Using an egg carton that is cut to 10 sections, the kids will use a spinner that contains words such as: 1 ten and 2 ones or 1 ten and 4 ones to build the teen number. Each section of the 10-compartment egg carton would receive an item and the leftovers are placed next to it. At the conclusion of their work with this, the kids will draw what they did. PLEASE look at this with them at home and ask them how many tens and ones it is. This will greatly improve their understanding of this concept if it's repeated over and over.
