Reader's Workshop: Using the poster Follow the Rules, the kids will identify cause and effect in the picture and text as well as make connections to deepen their understanding of the text. We will also cue in on signal words that signify cause and effect. (because, so, since, then, if, etc.)

Math: Composing/Decomposing Teen Numbers
New Concept: Today I want to show you how you can use your fingers to count to numbers that are more than 10. I am going to use the spinner to make the number with my fingers. Then I will use the math talk card to talk about the number. You will first flash 10 fingers then the fingers needed to show the 1’s.
Whole Group Explore: Today you and your partner will practice showing the “teen” numbers on your hands. The first partner will start by spinning the spinner. Then the second partner will show the number with their fingers and use the math talk card.
Time for Kids: Famous Firsts
~Tomorrow evening is our Arts & Academics night! I am hoping you will come and see what your child created and enjoy an evening of fun!
