Letter Focus Review: Letters Aa & Bb
Handwriting: Uppercase A & B
MathNew Concept: We have been talking about things that are the same. Sort
the math manipulatives according to their attributes (example: 3 triangles,4 squares, 2 hexagons, 3 rhombuses). I have sorted these by shape. How are these the same? These are all triangles (green). These are all squares (blue). Ask how they are different. Now I am going to count how many are in each group. I need to be sure I touch each shape as I count them. Watch. 1, 2, 3… I have 3 triangles. I am going to write a 3 on my mat so I can remember how many I had.
Whole Group Explore: Today, you are going to get with your math buddy and sort shapes. Once you have them sorted, you will want to count them and write how many you had in each group.
Student Application: Students will trace the number 2.
Students will color by shape. Then count the number of shapes they have in each category. They will write that number in the cloud at the end of each column.
Character Education: Mrs. Weninger (our school Social Worker) will visit our classroom each Friday from 8:25-8:45 to help with character building. She will begin by reading Have You Filled a Bucket Today? This is a must-read...please click here to have it read to your child again.
PhyEd Today
We'll make our first trip to the library today to hear about the expectations and hear a story about a worm who wiggles through a book that hasn't been taken care of. Books can be returned to school anytime you are finished reading. Our regular library visits will be on Fridays.
Bus Safety
Stay seated while the bus is moving.
~The children are catching on to all a full day of kindergarten demands. Together, we are learning about one another and how our day works. Thanks for any and all communication you extend to me...I appreciate that!
~For those of you who haven't done so, please return your scrapbook page, family photo, baby picture, and classroom fund money. Thank you!
Have a GREAT weekend!
