Word Work with Manipulative Letters

 Irregular Words: there, where, who, by, my

                Read: The rope fell in the hole.

                                       Cole is on the phone with Dave.

                                        My home is close to those lakes.

Spell: We rode the bikes home.

                                           Do you see a note from Hank?
                                          The phone rang and woke them up.

KinderLiteracy: Butterflies

We'll discuss these vocabulary words (nectar, chrysalis, migration, instinct, generation) and answer these questions:

1) Who is the author? What is their job?

2) What is one fact we heard from the book?

Writer's Workshop: Then or Next
The kids continue to work on their story by focusing on the next part of their story which is labeled "then or next". It is important to write either of those words first in the sentence.

Math: Circle Graphs

The kids will be introduced to this type of graph today. The idea is for the kids to continue analyzing and understanding what the data shows no matter what type of layout it is in.
