Phonics: Glides and Liquids
Glide sounds glide or move into the next sound. They are:
/y/, /w/, /wh/
Liquid sounds are a bit slippery like a liquid. Those are:
/l/, /r/

**We will also practice making letters with circles and curves: O, Q, C, G

KinderMath: Count to 5 and Back

Again, it may seem like an easy concept, but children need to accurately count orally, count objects, and identify the missing number when counting forward and back. We are building the foundational skills for counting and cardinality.
What better way to teach this than to work with the story, Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!

Today, I will reread parts of The Rainbow Fish so the children can answer 'text-dependent' questions such as these:

~How does little blue fish feel when Rainbow Fish refuses to give him a special scale?

~What happens to Rainbow Fish when he gives away his first special scale? What evidence in the text tells you this?

   The kids will make a Rainbow Fish project today!
