Friday, September 6

Friday, September 6
**WAHOO! Our first day as a whole kinderfamily!**

Touch & Feel...Guess What's in the Bag?
How do glue sticks help us learn? How do we use them properly? How do we take care of them?
Irish Pride
We continue to learn how to open/shut our locker safely, walk quietly in the hall, what the playground rules are, and bathroom etiquette. Assume nothing, teach everything!

Each day we will work with calendar activities on the SmartBoard.
For now, our focus is learning the routine for calendar time. In the near future, the children will be involved through the use of their 'laptop' binder pages that align with the calendar on the SmartBoard.

Please view the story Our Class is a Family that your child will hear today. I believe it is one of the best stories that explains how we are a family at school.

Today, we will revisit the cafeteria expectations with Don't Be a Lunch Monster
Cafeteria Expectations
~Walk in the cafeteria.
~Eat first, talk last.
~Be sure to keep your food to yourself.
~Clean up after yourself.
~Stay seated at the lunch table until an adult tells you to empty your tray.

 Music class today!

Irish Pride Celebration Today at 10:20
It's GREAT to be Irish!
Bringing our elementary students together builds community and school pride. These celebrations typically last about 20 minutes with music, a quick presentation of the character word for the month, and introductions for new students to Maple Lake. We end the celebration by singing our Irish Pride song.
~Please return all the things listed on the Kindergarten "To Do" list you received in your child's folder. Thanks!
~Late start is Tuesday, September 10...school begins at 10:15 and breakfast will be served.
~The book order is due Wednesday, September 11.
