Wednesday is a green (library) day.
Thursday is a black (character ed) day.
Both of these will begin next week.

  Again, welcome to the wonderful world of Kindergarten...It was great meeting with all of you! We are in for an INCREDIBLE year of discovery and learning and I am THRILLED to be a part of it! A friendly reminder that each day I plan to highlight the main activities in this blog so you can talk with your child about specific things that go on during their day. I will also let you know of upcoming events and reminders so it will be important to read it each day!
 
A couple of years ago, Mr. Ronnenberg created a video about Morning Movers. To watch the very similar route they will take around the new playground, click here. 

The children are learning about the routine/procedures/expectations involved during breakfast/lunch. Ask them about what a Lunch Monster does and what a Lunch Friend will do instead.
 
The kids will meet Pip the Pup (stuffed animal) and hear more about who he is in the story, Let's Meet Pip the Pup. After hearing the story, Pip will take the kids on a tour of the building.

Guess What's in the Bag?   
How will crayons help us learn? How do we use them? How do we take care of them? We are learning about *All-Star* Coloring:
~Color in the lines.
~Fill in the white spaces.
~Colors that make sense.

Please view the story Our Class is a Family that your child will hear today. I believe it is one of the best stories that explains how we are a family at school. At the conclusion of the story, the kids will be making a bracelet that shows each one of us is an important member of this family!

  
Wednesday students will have music with Mrs. Merkl today. 
Thursday students will have PE with Mr. Ronnenberg.

~Have your child wear green on Friday for our first Irish Pride celebration.

~Please return anything on the 'Kindergarten Checklist' as soon as you are able. The final date for all items is Thursday, September 18.

~As you may expect, your child will be tired...It's an adjustment for them (and you)...so hang in there!
