I use this terminology for our sight words as they seem to 'pop' out everywhere in our reading!

 Name Focus: Emma

Phonological Awareness: Oral Word Discrimination-Is one of these words different?
EX: check/cheese/check..hold up your first, second, or third finger to tell which one is different.
Concept of Words: Counting with blocks, the number of words in a sentence.

Language Arts: 

DAILY 5: The kids made it to 5 minutes of uninterrupted stamina yesterday and had a chance to dance under the disco ball! We are working toward 7-10 minutes!
Math: Sorting Attribute Blocks
In this activity, cards are used to tell how to sort the blocks. For instance, a child may pick a card from the pile that says BIG and they look for all the blocks that are BIG. Other cards include: thick, thin, blue, red, yellow, hexagon, circle, rectangle, square, and triangle.
Their work focuses on:
~Using attributes to sort a group of objects
~Identifying attributes (color, size, shape) and developing language to describe them.

Smart Room: The Stability Balls and Playdough area seem to be a class favorite!

Wednesday - College Logo/Jersey Day

(this is also "Wellness Wednesday" when we wear workout clothes to school so have your child wear workout pants and a jersey!!)

Friday - Irish Spirit Day (wear green and black)

 Miss Slettedahl reads about hopes and dreams as well as helping Ethan take 2 "bites" out of a cookie for the number of syllables in his name.

 Their buses made last Friday.
