The kids will make predictions using clues and evidence in a passage and what they know.

Math:  Shape Puzzles-DAY 2  
Using paper pattern blocks, the kids will fill an area with the corresponding shape or experiment with other shapes that can fill a space. For instance, a hexagon can be made with two trapezoids.
Their work focuses on:
~Finding combinations that fill an area.
~Developing language to describe 2-D shapes and their attributes.
~Exploring relationships among pattern block shapes.
 Smart Room Highlight: Jumping Rainbows
The children make rainbows from green line to green line while only moving their eyes to track the arcs.
 *We made green eggs and ham yesterday...EVERYONE tried a taste!

 The final activity to celebrate our 'Paws for Reading' theme for I Love to Read month is seeing a demonstration of the work police dogs do. We are scheduled to see this event from 12:20-12:40 today.
Smart Room
~The Smart Room has been transformed into a shamrock and leprechaun theme.

Math: Shapes on the Geoboards
The children use geobands (rubber bands) to make shapes on a peg board (geoboard).
Their work focuses on:
~Constructing 2-D shapes.
~Developing language to describe and compare 2-D shapes and their attributes.
~Relating 2-D shapes to real-world objects.
