 Number Word: one
  Language Arts: Using the nonfiction big book Animals in Their Habitats, the children will build academic vocabulary and concepts related to animals in their habitats. We will also identify and discuss nonfiction text features (table of contents).
 Writer's Workshop: We are really working hard at putting spaces between words as well as making complete sentences. Again, I model what a sentence looks like by stretching out the sounds, putting spaces in, and adding a period at the end.

 Daily 5!
 Math: Arrangements of 5 to 10 Tiles
The idea is working with sets that total 5 to 10.
Their work focuses on:
Creating a set of a given size.
~Developing and analyzing visual images for quantities up to 10.
~Decomposing numbers in different ways.
*Last week we made arrangements of 5. Today we will do arrangements of 6.

 Smart Room Highlight: Creep Track (Read the Color Words & Sentences)

We will do a few activities this week that introduce the children to George Washington and Abe Lincoln. Today, they are learning some basic facts of who they are.
**Great Grandma Tongen sure enjoyed celebrating the 100th Day with the kids!
