Phonics: -it Word Family
Number Word: six
 Language Arts: Make Predictions
Using the poster Bear's Lunch, the kids will l
earn strategies for analyzing questions and finding answers, clues, and evidence.

Writer's Workshop: Again, using the story The Enormous Watermelon, the kids will write a review. This time they will write what character they liked least and tell why.

Math: Today I want the kids to build their own rooms to compare 'area'. They will use 20  1" squares. They can use them however they want to build their rooms.
For instance, I may say something like this: "I think I will make room #1 with some of these squares and I will make room #2 with the rest of the squares. Let’s count each room to make sure we have 20 in all. Now I want to make 2 rooms that have the same number of squares and area, but I want their shapes to be different. Today you and your partner will build two rooms that have the same area. This means that each room will need to have the same number of squares."
