Math: Count to Tell How Many & Writing 3, 4, 5
We are going to be counting and matching numbers with cubes again but this time we are going to write the number down. First I am going to pull a number card out of my bag. This is the number 3 and now I am going to build a tower of 3 cubes. I need to check that I have the right amount by touching each cube and counting them. 1, 2, 3. Now I will write the number 3 down.
Demonstrate this process several times while having the students join in on the counting and checking.
Whole Group Explore: In partners students will play “Match it”. One partner will pull out a number from the bag, build a tower, and write the number. Then saying “Match it” the other partner will build a tower that matches and write the number.
