*New literacy jobs await the kids today! Among some of the fun literacy activities are:
~Write the Room: Groundhog & Valentine Words
~CVC flashlight words
~ Playdoh words
~Stamp the missing middle sound
I will draw a fiction story about a dog (character) at the park (setting). The kids will watch as I model how to count the sounds on my fingers for each label I write. "I want to label the collar on my dog. Let's listen to how many sounds are in the word and put a finger up for each sound /c/ /o/ /l/ /r/. I have 4 fingers up so now I need to write 4 lines and say it again slowly and write each sound I hear."
The kids will then try that strategy on their own.
