Letter L
The kids will listen to Penguins by Anne Schreiber for enjoyment. The comprehension strategy worked on this week is Inferring/Connections.
Today, we begin a new unit on labeling. To launch the lesson, the mentor text My Map Book by Sara Fenelli will trigger ideas of how labeling gives us information. A silly way to engage the kiddos is to label me! After stretching out words together on sticky notes, the kids will place them on me!
Handwriting: Letter w
(U-Turn Letters: u, w, y)
Literacy Jobs
Using a cube, sphere, cylinder and cone, the kids will help determine and talk about which shapes will roll, stack, and slide. I will point out how the cylinder and cone can only slide on their flat side which we call the face. Lastly, they will explore which shapes are able to stack and why a cone can only be placed on a stack with nothing on top of it.
Phy Ed Today
~A BIG welcome to Miss Sierra Smith, my Student Teacher, who will be with us this entire week and then continue her Methods course at SCSU throughout January and February. As part of her Methods course, she is scheduled to be with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beginning in March and continuing through April, she will be with us full time.
~Tomorrow is Late Start...have your child wear their Irish Pride shirt.
