Segment Words by Syllables: EX: magnet/mag-net

**HOMEWORK due Monday...sequence of events.**

(Together, we will create an anchor chart of what it looks like and sounds like during Writer's Workshop.)

This lesson involves placing playing cards in order from least to most. Let's say an 8, 1, 3, and 10 are drawn. The children will place the cards like this: 1,3,8,10. Numberlines support this skill as it isn't always easy to tell what comes next if it isn't the number that comes right after it. I encourage you to do this with your own deck of cards at home as this is an important skill the kids need to know. Their work focuses on:
~Ordering quantities from least to most.
~Developing language for comparing quantities (more, most, less, fewer, least).

Have a GREAT weekend and good luck to any of you who deer hunt!
