Writer's Workshop: Choosing the Right Topic
The idea here is to guide the children in the process of choosing a topic for writing from their list.
A storybook reader is scheduled for 10:10 to read Dog in Boots.
DAILY 5 in Action...
Math: Grab and Count: Ordering
The children grab a handful of connecting cubes 4 different times. Each time, they connect the cubes and determine the order to put them in from least to most. They record their findings on paper. Their work focuses on:
~Comparing lengths to see which is more.
~Developing language for comparing lengths (long, longer than, short, shorter than, the same, equal to) and quantities (more, greater, less, fewer, most, least, fewest, same, and equal to.)
**DAY 2 of this Lesson**
Time For Kids Topic: Be Good to your Body
Smart Room Highlight: While standing, tracing these pictures with our finger. Careful...stay on the lines!
~We are in need of red buttons and old CD's and you no longer need for a holiday craft we will be doing. If you have any to donate, please send them in by Friday, November 15. Thank you!
