Phonological Awareness: Sound Discrimination-listening for words that begin with the same sound. We say a chant that goes like this:
Five lizards live in a log.
One left to live with a frog.
One left to live with a dog.
Two left to live a hog.
One little lizard living in the bog.
It's a little lonely living in a log.We tally how many times we hear /l/ words.
Segment Words by Syllables by Pantomiming: A student performs an action and the class guesses what it is. For instance, if a student pantomimes climbing, the kids will repeat the word climbing, clap the syllables, and say how many syllables it is.
**THIS IS A REVIEW DAY FOR PHONOLOGICAL AWARENESS**
Language Arts: Again, using The Life Cycle of a Frog, the kids will determine text importance and identify the sequence of events using a graphic organizer.
Handwriting: P (big line down, jump back to the top, little curve)
Computer class today!
DAILY 5 in Action...Your child will be featured sometime this week!
Music Today!
Math: IPads
Smart Room Highlight: Building Turkey Feathers
Can you see the turkey being formed below? That is a tennis ball cut in half with straws placed in it. Coiled pipe cleaners are placed on the straws to create feathers.
At 1:55 today all the elementary students will be lining the hallways to send off the high school volleyball team to state. We plan to cheer them on to victory...Good luck Irish!
~The book order is due Wednesday, November 13.
~Post Prom Dinner Fundraiser is this evening from 5-7 at the 'V' in Maple Lake.
