Handwriting: S (Magic 'c', turn around) Language Arts: Using the Reader's Theater story Baby Animals, the kids will utilize punctuation to signal full stops while reading. They will demonstrate understanding of the text through purposeful pausing and effective pausing to make their reading sound like talking.
Phonological Awareness: Blend Syllables: The children hear words said in segments and blend the syllables to make a word. (mar/bles-marbles)
Segment Initial Sounds: Identifying if two words have the same beginning sound (van/vest; cave/bed)
