Math: Greater Than, Less Than
New Concept: Today we are going to play the same game we played yesterday. We will still use two cards. Can I show you a trick? When you are adding these two numbers together, you can just pick the largest number (7) and count on. Why do I start with the largest number?
Whole Group Explore: Today you will play Monster Munch with your partner, just like you did yesterday. You will each take two cards and add the numbers together. Place the greater than or less than symbol down.
Student Application
Completing  Less Than, Greater Than sentences by counting on from the larger number.

Computer Class Today
Again, because of MCA testing, Miss Casebolt will bring the Ipad cart to our classroom to work on
coding. The kids are beginning computer science. With code.org students will  begin to learn how to create computer programs that will help them learn to collaborate with others, develop problem-solving skills, and persist through difficult tasks. To find out more about coding, click here

KidblogMrs. Haglin will be in to help the kids post another entry on Kidblog. Again, they are working on sentence structure and the mechanics of posting on an IPad. If you want to see the posts your child has done and comment on them, click here .

Math: Subtraction Equations from 5
New Concept: Today we are going to play “Shake, Shake, Shake” again, but we are going to play it differently. Today we are going to start with 5 counters in a cup (count them as you put them in). Now I am going to shake, shake, shake them and spill them out on the floor. I have to be really careful to keep my pieces close to me. Now I can talk about this.“I started with 5. I have 3 red. That means I have 2 yellow.” I can also write about this. 5-3=2 . Repeat this demonstration a few times.
Whole Group Explore: Students will start with 5 chips in their cup. Half way through the explore, add one more chip, so now the students will be working with 6 chips.
