2) What is a way you can volunteer?
3) What might one do if there was an emergency?

Yesterday, the kids created their rough drafts with a beginning, middle and end all on the same page. See photo below:

Today I am going to teach that writers plan what they are going to write
about on each page by saying it out loud while touching each segment (B,M,M,M,E). Then they will write each part of the story on a single page. See photo below:

We continue to review combos to 5. The children will be playing Spill the Cup. The cup contains 5 red/yellow counters (as pictured below). They will record the results after each 'spill' to see how many landed on red and yellow to make 5. These results will be put into a 'Make 5 Book".
In this Read-Along lesson, the kids listen to an illustrated digital storybook with student participation. In the story, Kevin becomes a weather detective to figure out why he keeps losing his warm clothes. In the activity, Weather Window, students track the weather over four school days.
~Tomorrow is leprechaun trap making day! The 6th graders will be helping us from 8:45-10:00.
