Writer's use the word "then" for the middle of their stories.
The kids will be doing a couple of hands-on activities to work on combining numbers to make 10. First, they will play Spill the Cup with 10 red/yellow chips inside to find as many combos to 10 they can. Next, they will play Flip the Cup which follows the same idea except the kids will have cups to turn over to make combos to 10 like the photo below.

~Since it's April Fools Day, I decided I would give the kids what they think would be brownies but will actually be brown 'Ee's. It's going to be a silly, fun day! Hehe...
