~Monday Munchers is today. This is a chance for the kids to try a sample of Chef Patrick's goodies. Every child who tries the new food receives a sticker. The class in each grade level who has the most participants receives a healthy snack! Today's sample: apples/fresh basil

Phonological Awareness: Producing Rhymes Using Clues: EX: I know a word that rhymes with can and is something you cook in. What is my word?

words, thoughts, and feelings and visualizing to deepen understanding
of characters.
DAILY 5: The 'Work on Writing' component is going well! Later this week, the children will begin the third component, 'Word Work'.
Math: The Counting Canisters
In this lesson, the film canisters have a few blue and red blocks in them for the children to count. The idea is to allow the kids to notice how the two amounts make one whole amount. For instance, 5 red blocks and 2 blue blocks make 7 all together. They will record their findings in their Counting Journals.
Smart Room Highlight: Below, Laney works on circling the letters of the alphabet in sequential order.
Here are the Candy Corn Kids they made on Friday. In the Smart Room, Ryne & Natasha are working on sorting Halloween erasers with a clothespin.
