It's FIRE PREVENTION week.
Miss Slettedahl will be working with the kiddos on stop, drop, and roll today.

Segmenting Compound Words: EX: skateboard...skate-board

In this lesson, the film canisters have a few blue and red blocks in them for the children to count. The idea is to allow the kids to notice how the two amounts make one whole amount. For instance, 5 red blocks and 2 blue blocks make 7 all together. They will record their findings in their Counting Journals.

Smart Room Highlight: Below, Laney works on circling the letters of the alphabet in sequential order.

~Late start tomorrow...Wear your Irish Pride shirt!
~Monday Munchers is today. This is a chance for the kids to try a sample of Chef Patrick's goodies. Every child who tries the new food receives a sticker. The class in each grade level who has the most participants receives a healthy snack! Today's sample: apples/fresh basil
