Phonological Awareness: Segment Initial Sounds: Using their hands and legs,the kids do a pat/pat/clap rhythm to segment initial sounds. For instance: /c/,/c/, cat
Produce Rhyme: I roll a ball to someone, that person says a word that rhymes with my word and we keep rolling the ball to someone new who can add another rhyming word to mine.

Language
Arts: The kids will practice reading a rhyme "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" with short pauses (noticing commas). Homework for tonight: Read this rhyme with your child at home and locate all the comas making sure to pause as you read. Return it tomorrow!

DAILY 5: Word Work includes: ABC puzzles, match friend's picture to their name, letter surprise
Math: IPads
~Each Wednesday we will be taking a turn using the Ipad cart we share among the elementary school. The apps used will focus on skills and concepts related to outcomes we are working on. Two children per Ipad gives them plenty of hands-on experience!
