Letter Study: Ll
 Popcorn Word: an
Phonological Awareness: Produce Rhyme: I tell the students that I am thinking of two words that rhyme. I then tell them one word, then give them a clue for the other word.
Segment Compound Words:
Like yesterday, the children will divide a compound word into its parts (skate-board).
Language Arts: Building fluency & comprehension through story retellHandwriting: L (Big line down, little line over)

DAILY 5: We now have FOUR components available for the children to choose from during DAILY 5. Read to Self, Work on Writing, Word Work, and Listen to Stories (On CD). Again, our goal is to do three rounds of Daily 5 where your child chooses a different component and which activity to do within that component.

Math: Grab & Count: Compare
Each child grabs two handfuls of cubes and compares the grab from each hand to determine which has more. They will record their findings. Their work focuses on:
~Directly comparing quantities to determine which is longer.
~Developing language to describe and compare lengths (long, longer than, short, shorter than, the same, equal to.)

Music today from 9:50-10:20

Smart Room Highlight: We play calming music rather than the quick paced kind in order for the children to work at each station with ease and carefulness.

~Congratulations for a job WELL DONE on your homework packets! Lunch is in our classroom today! Photos to come...
~Tomorrow is Wellness Wednesday. Have your child wear their workout clothes!
